Privacy notice
This is a short, temporary website for Cove Gym & Studio while our full site is being built. It collects very little, and this page explains all of it in plain English.
Last updated 23 September 2026.
Who we are
Cove Gym & Studio runs the gym and studio at 29–31 New Church Road, Hove, BN3 4AD. We are the data controller for the information described on this page — that means we decide what happens to it.
If you want to talk to us about your data, email hello@covehove.co.uk or call 01273 750333.
What the form collects
When you fill in the enquiry form on our home page, you send us:
- what you would like to do — book a tour, join, or ask a question
- which membership you are interested in, if you told us
- your name and email address
- your phone number, if you gave one
- a preferred day or time, if you gave one
- anything you wrote in the message box
- whether you ticked the consent box, and whether you asked for our news
- the address of the page you sent it from
Why we collect it, and what allows us to
- To reply to you
- We use your details to answer your enquiry, arrange a tour or set you up as a member. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box — and, once you are a member, taking steps to enter into a contract with you.
- To send you news, only if you asked
- If you ticked the marketing box we may send you occasional news about classes and events. Our lawful basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
- To see how the site is used
- If you accept analytics cookies we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which sections people read. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give through the cookie banner.
Where it goes
The form is handled by Web3Forms, which takes what you submit and emails it to hello@covehove.co.uk. They also keep a copy on their own servers, hosted on Amazon Web Services, for a retention period we set. They process it on our behalf and do not use it for anything of their own. That address is a forwarding address on our domain, run by Squarespace, which passes the message on to the mailboxes of the people who answer enquiries. Those mailboxes are provided by Microsoft.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else except the services described on this page.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our inbox for up to 24 months and are then deleted, unless you have become a member — in which case your details move into our membership records, which have their own retention period. A copy also sits with Web3Forms, who run the form, for the retention period we have set with them. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies at all until you choose. When the page loads, Google Analytics is told in advance that it may not store anything, so no analytics cookie is written unless you press Accept analytics.
- If you accept: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart and to measure which pages and buttons get used. Your IP address is anonymised. We do not run advertising and we keep every advertising signal switched off.
- If you reject: nothing is stored and no analytics cookie is set.
- The map on our Find us section is served by OpenStreetMap rather than Google. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and it only loads if you scroll down to it. OpenStreetMap will see your IP address when it loads, as any website you visit would.
-
Your choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage,
under
cove-consent-v1, so we do not ask again on every page. That never leaves your device.
You can change your mind whenever you like:
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- show you a copy of what we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it
- stop or limit what we do with it
- hand it over in a portable format
- stop sending you marketing, at any time
Email hello@covehove.co.uk and we will deal with it within one month. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time — that does not undo anything we did before you withdrew it.
If you are not happy with how we have handled things, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
